MiniMi 1,468 Posted October 7, 2012 It just now hit me what I just did. So drastic! Woke up with nausea took the meds and walked around. I was so relaxed through the whole process but now I'm in a little panic mode. 1 dee_jo reacted to this
tiggergramma 129 Posted October 7, 2012 I did that several times the first week! It will pass as you get used to eating this way and how everything feels. Congratulations!

thomaar 1 Posted October 7, 2012 Mine was right before surgery. It may be the disease of compulsive eating that you're dealing with. It's good you're talking about it! You made the right decision. Next month will be a year for me. Keep reaching out and discussing your feelings. They will go up and down but dive into them and finally deal with what you may have masked with food.< /p> 1 marlena_marie reacted to this
scorrea 95 Posted October 7, 2012 I had a "freak" right after surgery too. I swore in the morning I was going to call the doc and say get this thing out of me, fortunately sleep calmed me a bit and then time just helped. It is something to get used to, it will happen. I think its pretty normal to feel this way. You are not alone! 1 Weeviegurl reacted to this

MiniMi 1,468 Posted October 7, 2012 Nice to know I'm not alone. Is anyone else having a problem with mucous? I feel like I'm choking half the time ( started this morning.) 1 Weeviegurl reacted to this
Renee2817 76 Posted October 21, 2012 I was panicked to in the beginning. I wasn't sure what to expect after the surgery. I did end up in AICU for almost a week. but after that I have been doing great. down 47 pounds since May, a little slow going for me, but as long as I am still losing about 1.5 lbs a week. I am good. You will get there, just be patient and it will all come naturally for you. I haven't felt this good in 20 years. Good luck to you.
Flowering man 28 Posted January 25, 2013 Yep I wondered what the FCUK I'd done immediately after the Op but it does get better
plaingirl 5 Posted February 28, 2013 I am 7 days post op. This is the first day I feel great. I felt the same way you do the day after surgery, I got scared and panicked a little. I also was trying to cough up the mucous, and OMG that hurt. But there is good news, I really do feel good today. I went back to work yesterday ( worked a 12 hr day, that was a little much ) I got to eat mushies today and boy was it yummy. So hang in there, it gets much better. Good luck! 2 newlife828 and Weeviegurl reacted to this

Flowering man 28 Posted April 15, 2013 I think it's normal to have a freak out post surgery It does get a lot better. I'm 3 months post surgery and I've lost 38lbs so far - the weights dropping off now. So don't worry about the post ops 'WTF's' - if is worth it and it does get better. 1 leannel90 reacted to this
lellow 1,713 Posted April 15, 2013 It's a shock isn't it? Because it's a BIG thing. And you feel so bloody awful those first few weeks and you think 'what did I do to myself?'. You feel like you're never going to feel 'normal' ever again. But you will. It may be a 'new' normal but you'll be surprised how quickly you adapt. Don't lose sight of why you did this in the first place. It's easy to forget that while you feel like crud, but focus on the future- walk lots, make plans and remind yourself that you've taken this brave step to change something you were not happy with. And come back and report back in a week. Because I'm sure you'll feel more positive then. 1 Shawnie914 reacted to this
