Potty-Training Boys???

Recommended Posts

Boys....they take time. No multi-tasking.

I've been reading this thread off and on for days...don't have anything to offer, I'm just glad my 4 year old is completly trained and wiping his own...s

I have used Disneyland as a bribe, shame on me. It's so cute when he comes out of the bathroom proclaiming "we're going to Disneyland"

My DD was trained at 2. It's just got to be boys...

Kathy ~ We like our sleep too and Danny wears his pull-ups at night. One night I found him sleeping naked from the waist down. Found the pull-up and pants on the floor in the bathroom. I was so happy got up on his own. :clap2:

FunnyDuddies ~ All I can say is OH MY GOODNESS!! You poor mommy!! I would just die facing what you do. I would also KILL my husband. :tired It sounds like he knows what to do, but maybe it is a bit soon for him. Danny will turn 4 in July and the last couple of weeks are the only ones we really worked on potty training b/c he put up such a fight. Also, my kids love to be naked and I get scolded by my mother for letting them do so. They do it more after a bath than any time else. It is helpful when potty training though.

dylansmom ~ Maybe he needs to talk to daddy on the phone during the day. I know after my husband went back to work after surgery last year, our oldest started peeing on the floor in his bedroom. We made phone calls every day to daddy and it stopped. Kids are funny creatures. Good luck!!

Paula ~ So funny your guy wants to poop outside!! Danny wanted to pee outside while we were at Burger King today. I got some strange looks. :) We used the bathroom, of course.

I didn't think my 3 year old son was ever going to get it and it was like overnight he had it. Pee was easy..poo was harder. We put him in pullups at night, but he takes naps in just his underware all the time. He is doing so well now. Now if we can just keep him from talking at the top of his voice when we are in a restaurant...mommy I gotta go poop...lol. My daughter was potty trained at 18 months...didn't prepare me for my son in anyway...lol.

My hubby, that is...I got him!!!! Tonight me and my sister went to Curves to workout. The kids were playing outside and hubby was in doing something when the doorbell rang. Tyler was standing outside the front door screaming with poop down his legs, into his socks and shoes, a big wad in his underpants, what a mess!!!!! hahahaha!

So hubby did a great job and cleaned it all up. Only instead of rinsing the brand new pair of Bob the Builder underwear in the toilet, getting the poop out and washing them, he put them in a bag and threw them away. :) Whatever...he had to clean the mess and took it like a Man. A Daddy Man. Yay hubby! I LMBO when I got home!

Tyler needed to poop before lunch today, and managed to hold it till after dinner. SIGH. What's up with the potty-phobia?! Tomorrow is another day. Fight the good fight, all you mommies and daddies out there!

OH! I was also laughing about the pooping outside. Tyler and I walked to the neighbor's house today to get their puppy (they were gone all day so I brought her to my house to play for the afternoon) and on the way back little Daisy gave an excellent demonstration of pooping right in front of us! We watched and I did a sports play-by-play of the dog's pooping episode. When it was over, I was sure to comment how doggies poopie outside, but big boys poopie inside in the potty. Oh yeah, we don't want to do the doggie poop over here! LOL

Smart man!

Kathy - I dont clean those things either! I mean, if there's a little skiding Ill clean it. But major blow outs? Its a heck of a lot easier to throw them out and get more later. Hanes whities, 7pk $5.67 - where else? Walmart!

I love it - I even laughed when I read this.

I have to tell you ladies that I'm really glad my sons are 25 and 27...but I'm laughing as I read this!! I can't even remember how we did the training thing, but I think it involved M & Ms...I was never above a little bribery! It DOES happen eventually, but it doesn't seem like it when you're in the middle of it, does it? Keep on keeping on...you have my sympathy!

O.K. Who put the curse on me? My son has pooped out in the yard twice now. Once yesterday and once today. He came running up to me saying, "Mommy, you've gotta come see this". My other son is yelling he pooped again in the yard. My DH took care of the first one and today I had to clean the poop from his little legs and butt. What is up with this? I told my husband someone on LBT must have cursed me b/c I've never heard of this b4.

I guess I should be thankful we're not changing poopy pull-ups anymore. There is a bright side to everything. ;)

oh no ~

Im so SO sorry!

If it makes you feel any better, I *think* Philip is "normal" now. Its been since Saturday? that weve poopooed in the BIG potty.

I must admit, the memories Im gonna have of my baby boy walking in circles around the yard holding on to the waist of his shorts, trying to find a spot to squat - these memories are priceless (I shouldve gotten it on video).

...but its when he did the deed with a yard FULL of neighborhood kids. Now THAT was a prozac moment!

Hey Kathy!

How's little Tyler doing with the BIG potty?

:clap2: Way to go Philip!! "Since Sat" is a long time in their little lives....good for him!! I know he is very proud b/c my Danny has me check him each time to see if he "got bigger". Of course, he does get bigger each time he uses the potty. :biggrin1:

Oh, if you only had your video camera like you said. We do get so busy sometimes with life we forget to catch those special moments we play back in our heads so many times. I can't remember, do you have a dog? Running around in circles.....that is too funny!!! I bet he cleared the yard in a hurry. LMBO

Pass the Prozac, will ya?

The LBT potty-training curse. Lawn-pooping! LOL

SIGH. We are okay over here...it's slow moving. Tinkle in the potty is no prob. Tyler responds better to his daddy telling him "time to go potty". When I say that, I get whining so I have backed off. I let hubby pick the plan of action over the weekend. Pull-ups in the day so he can tinkle and if he poops...well, he has the pull-up on. This is NOT the way I wanted to go. Pull-ups are evil, we all know this, BUT, here's why I agreed. This is stressful for Tyler. When he has his undies on, it's like someone has turned up the heat, he's miserable, uncomfortable, fussy, unhappy, and he doesn't even really know why. He knows he's supposed to poop in the potty, but something about it is "over his head". He can't handle it yet. The pull-up makes life happpier for him. He doesn't worry, and his pull-up is dry all day long! So, pull-up it is. I got a glimpse of how those evil things can work for some kids, so I'm a bit more open to them. I feel like I/we needed to back up and punt till next quarter. I'll give it a week...see if I can get the little fella to begin to recognize the pooping urge on his own without pressure and panic. I have to remind myself he's only 3 and 1 month. And I keep remembering what you said, Paula, about if he's not ready, wait.

So, ready on the tinkle, not so much on the poop.

Yay Philip! Saturday IS a long time, how cool is that?! 3loves, I like the "check to see if he's bigger" idea. How cute! I'll give it a few days, then maybe I need to get Emily's M&Ms. hehe

Andy has done ok. One day he will stay dry all day, and have no accidents, go on the potty without being asked. But other days he has huge poop accidents, and i find him coming downstairs in different shorts, only to find them wet and hidden in the guest bedroom. I am not sure why he is hiding it. We do no scold him for having accidents. I think he is embarassed cause he is trying so hard.

I would have to say my son is now potty trained with the exception of an occasional pee at night. We use pull-ups. Anyway, today I had this sadness that came over me b/c I can't remember the last time I changed his pull-up. I am so proud of him being potty trained now, but my baby is growing up.....boo hoo. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just rewind once in awhile? :cry

I guess it's human nature to want what you don't have. :tired

Thanks for listening!!

We are making progress over here! Today he went poopy in the potty. Yay! We went to Wal Mart and he picked out a "rocket ship" which is really a fighter pilot plane with a pilot you can put inside the cockpit with the dome cover? You know what I mean. He loves it! He was so proud, we called Daddy and everything!

Then later he pooped his pants. sigh. oh well. It's progress.

3loves, congrats to your little man! He's doing so GOOOOD!!!!! I know what you mean about being sad, though. It's amazing how fast they grow up. Shed a little tear or two, then think about all the money you are saving on diapers, and soon, pull-ups! Then smile and grab him up and kiss him all over his sweet little face like you could just eat him up. Love that giggle. He's still a little boy, don't worry! ((((hugs))))

Paula and Amy, how are your little guys doing?

I'm so proud of all you mommies!!! and your lil ones too! I wonder if Proctor and Gamble, (toothpaste makers) and General Mills,(cheerios) and all the underwear makers realized that they had a gold mine if they just "re purposed" these products into a potty training package!! I love the growing each time you pooped, and the puppy demo, and the tree watering. I think we have a lap-band training book on the make here and another book on another thread that says ......then you might be a banster!. Gotta love it!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
