Missy, Are you on MyFitnessPal. It would be nice for those of us that want to read your food diary as you go along. Or went along congratulations

Janner146 - Nevada - Banded 9/12!

No sorry, I'm not. I use the Lose It app.

Hahaha my diet is boring, trust me. I honestly don't eat anything special. Heck, I don't even do low carb, I eat lots of carbs. I just eat less food and try to make healthy choices.

Today is the 9 month anniversary of my Lap Band surgery.

Since then I have lost 152 pounds.

I still have considerable weight to lose but I am SO happy with my results so far. It's definitely work and I've had to change my entire lifestyle but I am happier and healthier than I have ever been in my adult life.

I absolutely love my band! It's the best decision I've ever made for myself!

HAPPY DANCE!!! :D

This is a inspiration to me because I'm going do my band in January. Thank you and keep up the good work. I'm doing the happy dance with you :)

You're not stupid, you're human, and the fact you went back to your doctor to get back on track makes you smart.

Welcome back to life as a bandster, you can do this :)

The best advice I have is to see a nutritionist if you feel your weight loss has stalled. Even if you saw one in the past, your nutritional and calorie needs can drastically change as your weight drops and you've lost a lot.

I really believe two things are responsible for my weight loss- the guidelines my nutritionist set for me and tracking my calories. I don't eat any special food, and I don't do low carb either, but I do track what I eat always and do my best to follow the guidelines set for me.

Best wishes :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
