Waterbelle13 0 Posted October 5, 2012 I know that it is said that you shouldn't drink with a straw once you've been banded, but I find that it's easier for me. I was so used to using a straw that when I don't, I tend to burp a lot & even throw up the liquid that I just drank from the air that I've "swallowed." Is it that harmful to use one? melissaw1976 26 Posted October 5, 2012 Some people use a straw after surgery. Some don't. I don't because I get bad air bubbles and gas from it, same as chewing gum. Everybody's body reacts differently after surgery. If it helps you and your doctor is ok with it - go to town! 2 ♕ajtexas♕ and Waterbelle13 reacted to this
