I'm sorry you're struggling. You say you're starving, I'm assuming you mean you're physically hungry? How soon after eating do you find you're hungry again?

Also, are you sticking to a cup or less of food per meal? Are you getting in all your Protein daily?

I had lap band surgery on 04-09-12; I have a Large AP Lap Band that will hold 14 cc's; I am also at 7 cc's and not in the green zone . . . yet; I asked my physician what happens when I get to 14 cc's and I still don't have restriction. He said that never happens. He is now only adding 1/2 cc at all future fills. The one thing I did NOT realize about the lap band was that it would take 6 months to get near the green zone. There is a VERY wise lap bandster on here who will say "Lap Band without restriction is just like another diet" . . . the more I think about that, the more I agree.

Have you considered perhaps you're not getting enough calories? Some people need to consume more to lose- including me. I would stick to a cup or less of food per meal but try increasing the calories a little for a week or two and see what happens. Even to just 1000-1200 per day.

Best wishes to you.

I felt and some times feel the same way. I was banded in May 2012 and I only lost 10 lbs since then. I've even gained some and lost it again. I've got 7.6 cc in my band. I was so down on myself for not losing and I wasn't eating bad. I was doing fitness pal and was consuming 1000 cal a day. But I wasn't getting all my Protein. I called in tears to my nutritionist about my weight. He told me about this Protein Shake called Premier Protein. It has 30 g protein per shake. And I had my thyroid rechecked. After I got everything worked out I finally started losing some. I was happy because I thought great this another diet that I can't lose on. Money down the drain but it is working I just had to give it time.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
