Inner Thigh Lift Pre-Op Pic.

Recommended Posts

Well having had my abdominoplasgty and brachyplasty in May 2012 am feeling fully recovered and am now going for my thigh lift. My sugeon is going on maternity leave in december so it was either having to wait till next year and another summer interupted by surgery or to get it done asap. My surgery date is the 18th October 2012..

Just to give you an idea of what my poor surgeon has to deal with i am showing 2 pics

one pre-op with my very loose skin on my thighs and one of my thighs in my marena compression leggings. I love these compression legs and although expensive are so worth while, the difference it made to me not having this baggy skin showing on my legs with normal leggings made all the difference in the world to me.

Most of you wont get skin as bad as mine as i had to lose a lot of weight and doing the amount of cycling i do my legs are just muscle and skin now, my age was against me and so was being female but i am hoping this surgery will make the difference i need to feel able to wear my cycling shorts or even a bathing suit !

Good luck on the thigh lift! It is the one surgery that I struggled with, because I was still too heavy when I had it done. With you at goal weight, you should do fine!

It would be hard for me to tell u the cost as i am in the UK and i presume u are US :) and my brother is the general manager of the hospital i am getting it done in so i get a family discount, i certainly wouldnt be able to get it done otherwise .. maybe one of the others on here from the US can help you with that question ,, good luck with those last few lbs anyways !

I am wondering if I will need these surgeries for excess skin after I reach goal??? I weighed 280lbs, so far ive lost 59lbs, and I notice I have a lot of skin already hanging on my upper inner thighs and under my upper arms. I didnt know if any of you were the same weight and had to have it or will the skin shrink up some??

Its very hard to predict the amount of skin someone will end up with after losing weight, obviously a large amount of weight like i had to lose its pretty darn guaranteed to leave u with vast amounts of spare skin. For most of you with average amounts of weight to lose its as individual as your hair is, or any other genetic feature. Age and sex play a big part along with either smoking or the menopause all of which impact on your skins elasticity. All u can do is treat your skin well eat healthy and keep hydrated and eat your required amount of Protein.< /p>

I have said this before !! if u do end up with spare skin, wear it like a badge of honour, and be proud of it ...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
