How Does It Feel When Things Get Stuck

Recommended Posts

I have read many posts comparing the ability of various goods to go down. How does that feel when food has difficulty getting down? What should one expect?

It feels like you have something in your chest and you either let it to continue hurting and feel up with slim or go and puke vomit it up to feel. Euterpe!

Vomit it up to make you feel better! It feels like a sharp pain and very uncomfortable...... I experienced it really bad trying to eat a turkey leg.... Chewing it good for some reason didn't even help

For me, "stuck" is when I swallow a bite too big, or I get my full signal but take another bite anyway.

What does it feel like? It feels horrible. It's not the worst pain ever but it's not fantastic. It feels to me like the absolute worst indigestion you could imagine. It feels like a rock sitting in your esophagus. My mouth starts watering and I get that little panic feeling. It doesn't interrupt your breathing or anything like that, but it feels scary. My worst one passed after about 3 minutes, mostly it's just a minute or so of that pain.

I've never had to vomit, or "PB" (productive burp) to get food back up. I've always just paced and taken slow, steady breaths until it passed. PBing it back up would probably help but I'm honestly scared to death to make anything come back up.

The only way I can deal with a stuck episode is to bring it back up with my toothbrush. My mouth starts to Water, I break out in a sweat, and I start to panic. It's either toothbrush down the throat or to the ER I go. So far, I have yet to go to the ER! It's a pain in back of your breastbone, literally like somethings stuck in your esophagus - cuz it is. Until I learned how to eat slower, I got stuck frequently. Not recommended, as I slipped my band because of it. Chew well, eat slowly, and stop when your body tells you to stop. Don't ever push anything...

I just had the worst stuck ever! I think I either ate to fast or didn't chew enough! But all I know is that it hurt in my chest and back, lasted for about 5 mins until i made it come back up, i had no chose in the matter it was coming back up no matter what I wanted, but it don't hurt anymore! I don't wanna ever feel that again! So my advice is to eat slow and chew, chew, chew!

OUCH!!!! It sits there like a rock, I start burping, get this tightness in my chest, lots of sliming, if it goes through the band eventually it hurts so bad, if it doesn't want to go through the band and wants to come up, it projectile vomits out of me. Has happened twice and I've learnt my lesson well. Chew chew chew and if you realise the bite is too big spit it out. What's worse is afterwards it aggravates everything for a few days.

Wow, should I warn my husband that if I eat too much I am going to pull a Linda Blair, you know, just to warn him?

Seriously though, what is this "sliming" people keep taling about?

Lol yes warn him! Sliming is when you start producing excessive saliva and like this mucous substance. The body's way if trying to help get the food through. I know it's gross.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
