Do U Still Feel Fat???

Recommended Posts

Since I've had the lapband in Feb 2011 I have lost a total of 64 pounds ( I had a baby 2 months ago and already lost all baby weight plus 10 pounds more ) my bmi was a 42

Now it is 29!!!

I wear any sizes between 11-13 but I still feel fat..

Does anyone feel like me or am I crazy!!

I wear a size 4-6 and I still feel fat. It has gotten a lot better for me since I have had my Tummy Tuck. All I seen was all the skin and it was horrible on my self confidence. You lose the weight so fast that its hard for your head to catch up.

Absolutely. I went from a size 22 to a size 8 and I still see fat everytime I look in the mirror. My husband tells me I'm not fat, but I see the bulges on my back (I have lots of back fat).

Guess I'll always be the "fat girl" in my mind. I still have about 15 lbs to goal, so I'm hoping that'll take care of it. If I still feel fat at 135 lbs, then I have a big problem.

I still feel very fat, I was banded March 2011 and I'm down 90 pounds (276 to 186). But I know it's all in my mind.

This morning I said to my husband I know my clothes are big but I still feel fat. When I look into the mirror, I see fat me. I was banded 7/30 but started losing weight in March and I am down 57 lbs. I put on a size 3x 't' this morning and it is huge! The sleeves are very long. That makes me feel great but I still feel very fat. When does this disappear?

Good luck with your weight loss.

I was banded March 2, 2012. My starting weight was 201 and I'm down to 146. I was wearing 16-18 clothes (some bigger) now I'm wearing a 6 or 8 Every one is always saying to me "you look so small!" or "dang you're getting tiny" but when I look in the mirror most days I still see the same 201lb woman in 16s and 18s. I don't know if that will ever go away. I think it inhibits me from really enjoying the fact that I've gone down that many sizes. It really bothers me when people tell me I'm getting too small or that I don't need to lose any more weight of course it's usually my mother and sisters telling me that and they are all over weight. Unfortunately right now I'm dealing with a band slippage :( I've been on liquids for a week and go back to the dr in the morning to see if it moved back into place. My biggest fear is that they will take it out if it doesn't go back :(

HI yall!

I have asked the same question...I thought I was a little crazy! I have been told that eventually your brain does catch up but not sure when! I was banded Nov 21, 2011 and have lost 69 lbs. 260 to 191 and can wear a anywhere from a 8 to a 12.

Ive been heavy my whole life and the whole thing when people say "Look at you Skinny Minne" I wanna look around and see who they are talking about! Weird!

OH so sorry to hear about your slippage! Yikes! Take care of yourself and I wished you the best of luck tomorrow at the doctor!!

I have had the same thing told to me..."I think you have lost enough weight" "If you lose anymore your going to look sick" Its a constant battle within my our head to remind myself...Its my body...My life....They never told me..."wow! You sure what gained alot of weight" I understand people are concerned but sometimes I wished they would just shut it!

Again I hope everything goes okay tomorrow!

When I look in the mirror (naked) I focus on my fat lumpy stomach and yes I feel fat. When I am clothed then I feel a lot thinner, especially when I am with other people as most of them are much bigger than me. I think the problem is that we are bombarded with images of perfect bodies in the media. Unfortunately most of those bodies are not real and achievable unless you are good with photoshop and an airbrush but we don't realise that and we think that when we have lost weight we will look like that.

I think that it is hard to get to a point where we look in the mirror and say " hey I look great".

Glad to know there are many out there that feel "Fat" like I do. I have lost 80 lbs. and gone from a 22 to 12. But I still look at my self as over weight. I also here from my mom that I have lost enough weight and I am starting to look stringy. ( What ever that means) I think I still have a big belly and big thighs. But sometimes I look in the mirror and say to myself Girl you have come a long way give yourself a break.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
