Diet Sample Plan

Recommended Posts

I am starting solids on Wednesday....I am looking for some sample menus that people do for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. DO you eat only 3 oz? I am so confused. My nutritionist is away all week so I am looking for you guys for some answers.

Hope you can post some sample days for me. Thanks.

I was told at my second dietician appt the other day... 3-4oz Protein at each meal, 1 1/2 cups veggie and maybe a small starch. Leave starch til last b/c if you are full before that, no need to eat it. I am now trying really hard to stick to the diet. no snacking!! ugh. not easy!

yes, all doctors are different so you will most likely get different responses. so here is mine. i am to eat a cup of food period. Protein of at least 3-4 oz (first) and then my veggie. (i am very strict and do not eat bread) and a fruit. (that is my sugar to me). like sco, i do not snack. if i do, its a half Protein Bar or sf popsicle or some low cal pop corn.< /p>

but follow your dr's orders because what works for me, may not be right for you. all the best :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
