Hello again all, I start my Optifast on the 3rd of October and I was wondering if anyone had any sort of plan, or example of their diet over the 2 weeks, I know each optifast replaces one meal, but I feel like I need to see some diet plans to help me know what amount is best :)

Ta!

Generally you drink 1 Optifast for Breakfast, 1 for lunch and then depending on your Dr's instructions you may be allowed some low carb veg for dinner.< /p>

Hi, I was instructed to go on Optifast for 2 weeks prior to surgery.

1st week I was allowed any of the Optifast range and told to have a reasonable serve of vegies each day. I drank the liquid shakes for breakfast, typically blending them with some ice. lunch i would have a shake and some vegies, or a optifast bar (there was 2 choc based ones i preferred from memory) as i found come lunch I wanted to chew something. dinner was the shake or a bar if I was out. I typically only had the vegies at a time i had a shake. I made some to ratatouille, salsa, salad or vegetable Soups to eat for my serve of vegies.

2nd week was the same, with the last 2 days to be liquids shakes only prior to surgery.

I recall drinking a ton of Water to starve off the hunger, with a few herbal teas as well.

Optifast also has a chicken or Tomato Soup mix which I found a nice change from eating all sweet things. I got them in Amazon. Same stats as the shakes.

I am on a strict Optifast diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I am only allowed 4 shakes a day with one cup of vegetables/day and tons of Water. Out of everything this is what stresses me out the most. I start this friday!

so you can't have any of the bars or Soups or Desserts? cause I'm fairly sure I can have all of those things, as well as the shakes, but just wasn't sure how much a day :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
