Luce3 9 Posted October 1, 2012 I'm getting banded on the 17th of October which is just over 2 weeks away and the nerves are finally setting in, I feel like i'm not prepared! I know it's just nerves talking but is there anything I should be doing in particular in the next 2 weeks (aside from the optifast) any information is appreciated!! NurseLydsss 59 Posted October 1, 2012 Everyone experiences different things after being banded.....but get as much gas relieving meds as you can....garlic tea...mom...gas-x, just in case one does not work....cause I have no pain other then the gas pain....it's horrible....I have never been so happy in my life about being able to fart!!! 3 SinCityGal, Harrier's Woman and Luce3 reacted to this
icestorm12132008 39 Posted October 1, 2012 get a hot pad for your shoulders and gas x strips for the gas and walk it off literally the walking helps move the gas used in the OR up and out of the shoulders, i know it's going to smart but you will feel better if you get up and walk every hour or so, not far just move to move the gas up and out. 1 Luce3 reacted to this

secondchancesally 43 Posted October 1, 2012 I keep hearing the same advice about the Gas X strips. I dont see how they get gas from your abdominal cavity into your colon so you can fart it out. That seems like two separate compartments.
christine150 10 Posted October 1, 2012 I walked to move gas, used heating pad and iced my stomach. I used gas x when gall bladder was removed and it did nothing for me.They gave me liquid vicodin for pain and I took it every four hours and slept a lot lol.Fyi if you get that pain med it tastes disgusting but it helped.
