It happens, and is very normal. The only advice I can offer is make sure you are getting in enough of Proteins. You should be drinking plenty of Water and taking your Vitamins. Our bodies are going through some major changes, especially from foods we once would eat tons of, such as carbs/sugar. You could be going through withdrawls from these. Fresh fruits can curb some of these cravings.

It will pass....

I had surgery on sept. 24. I thought u would be up in 3 days. I was tired and weak. All I wanted to do was sleep. I was not taking pain meds. I finally felt better yesterday. The anesthesia effects every differently. I forgot this is surgery and you need time to heal. I did try to walk a little around the house, but could not do much. If you feel tired and weak, rest, then try and walk when you can. It does get better.

I felt tired and weak the first week after my surgery too - I thought I would recover quickly, but my body had other plans. Now when I get home from work, I immediately change into walking clothes and go for a walk. It seems to help my energy level. Prior to the surgery, I would come home, take a nap and then do housework or whatever. Now that I walk first, I seem to have more energy and I get more done. Maybe it would help you too? Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
