txteachingirl 1 Posted September 29, 2012 My hair is falling out like crazy! Even more than it did before I had the surgery. I get about 60 grams of Protein a day. I also take Biotin and a prenatal Vitamin. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
NWgirl 574 Posted September 29, 2012 My nutritionist gave me a formula for Protein intake: Body weight x 0.3 = grams of Protein Some people also experience hair loss as a result of anasthesia, so there's not a lot you can do except making sure you are getting in proper nutrition. 1 prettygirlswag reacted to this
txteachingirl 1 Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks! I'm 2 months post op . Could it still be from anesthesia?
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted September 29, 2012 mine started coming out in 2 1/2 months in i noticed in the tub (talk about a reality awakening) hard to think as i have baby fine hair to begin with i have heard its gets better i do keep my Protein high daily to help with that (if it does) have a great day
NWgirl 574 Posted September 29, 2012 I had some Hair loss starting in months 3-4 post op and it finally seems to be wearing down (after 2 months). Just do what you can, like taking Vitamins and getting good Protein. It will stop at some point. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

tiggergramma 129 Posted September 29, 2012 My mother lost hair from anesthesia a couple of months after her surgery. It stopped and reversed after a few weeks. 2 friends who were banded 5 months ago both lost hair at somewhere between 2 and 3 months postop, and have stopped now. Not something I am looking forward to, but I do know it will pass. 1 Harrier's Woman reacted to this

My Dr said to not only do 5000 mg od Biotin, but also take fish oil. Together they will help.

Is this formula per day? I've seen some posts where it was said the body could on process 25 grams of protein a day....confused?

The 25g is at one sitting. There is some disagreement about if the 25g at once is true or not, but I try to follow it just in case.
