I just wanted to let everyone know that Leona is having her senior recital :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: in NYC at Juilliard on April 8 at 8:30PM. That is a Saturday night. I am going of course and have a couple of seats in my van still available if anyone would like to go. I will be leaving Sat morn and coming back on Sunday. I have reservations at a hotel in Jersey for $100.00 a night and that cost will be split by the amount of people in each room. ( two double beds each) food can be any price depending on where you eat. There are cheap hot dog stand to expense full course restaurants. BTW Greyhound has some really good internet prices too. Let me know if you are interested. :)

The recital is free. It's the other stuff you want to do in NYC that will cost. I do not have a full agenda sent up but I know I will be leaving in the morning on Sat about 8AM. Should get to NYC around 1-2 PM depending on traffic. We will stop at Cracker Barrel for Breakfast. I have to pick up a lady in Philly. Then coming home sometime Sun afternoon/evening. Things depend on the weather and what everone wants to do. It is not fun if it is cold and raining. One of the ladies is coming back early Sun because her daugher is in a concert in DC Sunday afternoon. It about 200 miles to NYC and with the cost of tolls and gas it is about $75.00 if you get 20 MPG. I have the EZpass which make it easy to get thur the tolls. The hotel is in Jersey with an express bus stop across the street. We might want to get half price tickets to a Broadway show. I will send you an email.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
