JerseyShoreDisneyDiva 113 Posted November 27, 2012 A question for those who are on the clear liquids diet post op. Are you getting Protein? You can't add chocolate protein to Soup or Jello so what do you do? Sorry to sound stupid but I am a bit confused. And when you you start the Protein Shakes? Sorry to sound stupid but I am a bit confused. And when you you start the Protein Shakes? Focus on staying hydrated. I was on clear liquids 48 hours post op. When I started full liquids is when I started focusing on protein.

They are really good but will try the Protein Powder next due to cost. If you get it le me know how they are!
mjiacik 2 Posted November 28, 2012 My doctor had the same orders for me stay hydrated until my first office visit is most important. I am drinking diet green tea and crystal light mostly and then for sustenance i am drinking chicken broth. Today is day two post op, my surgery was Monday with a few complications. Hunger is not an issue for me the gas pain is, walking around is the best relief so far, gas x strips help a little. I just pray the worst part is over it feels like a cross between 1000 sit-ups and a broken rib. I just keep telling myself the worst part is over. The good news is I am swallowing real good, keeping fluids down well so that part pleases me.

Keep walking, it does help and it does get better. I am 13 days post op, 12lbs down from surgery and feeling great. Wish you the best in your recovery.
