Yes spelled perfectly!

We are on the same timeline... Day 3 for me surgery Nov 2nd.... I woke up really hungry and not in the mood for a cold Protein shake... I wanted something warm and filling... But I sucked it up and just had the shake... The lbs are falling off already!!! I'm down 4 lbs in 2 days.

Think I'll call my nutritionist tomorrow because we never really set up a pre-op meal plan.... Yours sounds great because at least you get to eat7 oz meat... Mmmmm sounds so yummy right now.. All I've had is steam broccoli and chicken broth... Which wasn't the most horrible thing in the world but a little grill chicken would be nice!

Yesterday was my first day and weighed this morning and I had lost 2.2 lbs that made me even more eager to stay on track. I'm hungry, but not starving. I told my husband after these 14 days I'm gonna look like a Popsicle. I now let them melt a little and put them in a few like a sushi I do about three at a time. Patiently awaiting 11/5. Well not sure how patient I am.

My doctor didn't give me a certain amount to lose. They just said lose some weight. When I started my pre op I was 5 lbs heavier than I was for my consultation appt. so I lost 2.2 of that in one day so hopefully in the morning I will at least be my consultation weight and then everything else will be a plus.

So I started my preop diet today... I felt like I was starving, like I actually had stomach pains from it. lol Now that I got to have my dinner, I feel much much better. I am pumped, can and will do this, but WOW, I hope it gets easier.

This is so hard, but i know this will pass. I got all shaky, nauseous, and have a headache, and it is only day one. Pushing through, and know it will get better. Hopefully since i get to drink shakes i will feel better. Less than two weeks though! Woot woot!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
