You are probably right in the middle of it! It is that time between surgery when you are all excited and motivated, through to when you start to feel the benefits of your fills. Often in BH you will not lose weight, you will feel as though you could eat anything and that the band isn't even there. You will be wondering why you had surgery if you had to rely on your willpower so much etc etc etc.

The good news is that is only temporary. And if you have to ask, then you are probably not having as difficult a time as some other bandsters.

Congratulations and enjoy your results as they come.

Thanks! What does pb'ing stand for? I know what it is, but I can't figure the pb out. I had a weird first month. I gained 12 pounds immediately after surgery, it took about 2 1/2 weeks for that to go away, and then I went down another 8 or 9. I'm not complaining because I was so worried something was wrong at first, I'm happy with my 9 for now. Thanks for the responses!

PBIng! Stands for productive burping. Sadly I'm all to familiar with it because I eat to fast! I'm working in it though! Maybe the 12 pounds was from you retaining Water, surgery does weird things, plus All the meds they put you on.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
