I love my band and it has helped me in more than just losing weight! I have learned how to eat right, when to stop when i am full and even though the hardest part was getting my head with the program i have lost all the weight i can with the band and i have finally accepted this.I have lost more than half the weight i wanted by eating right most of the time and not feeling like a pig when i eat crap because i know that if i eat poutine one time i won;t get back to where i was and i just move on...

The rest of this weight will require a 100% dedication to excerise.I have a low metabolisim(sp) and NO energy.I know that exercise will help with both of these problems.

I got my tongue pierced and quit something as of this morning. The piercing is a reminder of my commitment to myself and my new goals.Quit smoking and exercise 3 times a week.

Yea for me!!!

NSV for this week end..

I realized i fit in Wal marts regular clothes and NOT even the largest in 18 but regular 16 OH MY GOD!!!! It still hard for me to see myself like this i still feel the same but i got more than my share of looks with my new "lock and load"suit, cami and high heels.I tended to stay in my fat clothes as there is a certain comfort level there but watch out for me because with excersize and more energy i am looking forward to the rest of this weight going bye bye!

For those who don;t know me,

I am Chantal, from Ottawa Canada.I have had the band for 3 years(yes i am not in a hurry to lose)I am 5'2 and started at 235.I weight 175 now, soon to be 135.( i want to reach 125 but i will be having a TT and Lipo before the final 10!)

Thanks for reading my happy happy story.

That is a beautiful inspiring story. a great promotion for our beloved bands. I too am not in a hurry to lose my weight (but don't want to gain anything I have lost).

don't think I'll be getting my tongue pierced though (too scared) but what a good way to remind yourself what the band has achieved for you so far.

Hope you enjoy your new exercise progamme

Best of luck

Laine:)

Hey Chantal... You can do it girl! Quitting the smoking is hard but you know... I'm 4 wks into it this time and I haven't punched anybody yet. :) It sounds like you are ready to kick some butt and with an outlook like yours... I'm sure you will be a success. I bet you look terrific... but if you feel your journey is unfinished... onward you must go! ((((Hugs))))

I can so relate with you. I started at 242 and am 5'3" and also got my band 3 years ago. I am in the exact same boat as you, the last 35-45 lbs will require a major commitment to exercise.

good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
