Wgbem 138 Posted September 27, 2012 Today is post op day four. I am not really sure what I am supposed to feel as regard the weight loss. I am trying to take in liquids every hour, sips at a time. Is there something else supposed to be going on? I laugh because I am a nurse and I have been a lousy patient with understanding things.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 27, 2012 You're doing exactly what you should be doing, concentrating on drinking liquids and staying hydrated. Really, during the liquid portion of the post op of diet, that's all you should be doing. That's especially true because you just had surgery a couple days ago. You're doing just fine

☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted September 27, 2012 you are not needing to worry about losing weight until at least you are 1 month out as you are healing and such...just keep sipping and resting and you will do fine congrats on surgery
Rojasanoll 920 Posted September 27, 2012 Stay on course, you're doing what you're suppose too be doing, healing only. If the weight comes off, so be it. During this stage lots here in the forum that lost weight and others do not or very little. The healing process is different for most of us. I guess people think that if you drinl mostly liquids the weight should come off easily, but your body has stomach trauma and gas was inserted into stomach. Be patient during this stage, it took a long time to get heavy, please don't rush the weight loss, it's not a contest you're in. Quality of life and good health is what you're after. Summerrain 520 Posted September 27, 2012 What everyone said above, stay hydrated and follow your doctors instructions. Not sure if you've had the shoulder pain yet but when I would get that pain I found that walking helped and also laying flat on my back in bed for ten minutes and deep breathing helped. Best of luck as you recover!
