I Wanna See Pictures Of Your Dinner, Plated.

Recommended Posts

I do better with visuals and I just found out my bites were way to big after seeing a veteran bandster show a picture of a fork with a bite on it. No wonder I am having problems.

Show us your dinner! Or b-fast, or lunch or snack....

Remember everyone is different. I could not eat bites as small as those in the picture you are talking about. I find if a bite is too small , it is easier for it to slip down without being properly chewed. i need something that is big enough for me to get my teeth into.

This is a typical Breakfast for me. I do not have a fill so my band is empty. I take small bites when I eat, and take my time. As a matter of fact I am eating this while I am posting. It allows me time to take breaks inbetween. Don't be frightened by the size, it could be the picture everything is 'small' size, including the plate.

I even tracked all nutrients for my Breakfast for you so you can see how much and what I am eatting:

1 Thomas' Mini Whole Wheat Bagel (toasted)

2 Egg whites

3 tsp. smart balance 'lite' butter with flaxseed

1/8 cup of Fat Free shredded cheese

**Note, I put 1tsp of the lite butter into a 'non stick' pan** 1tsp of lite butter goes on each bagel side. (I measure everything to a tee)

My breakfast total for today:

Calories: 204

Protein: 15.2 grams

Fat: 6.1

Carbs: 23.2

Keep in mind this is MY portion for ME! Everyone is different and can eat differently. If you had a fill, more than likely you would not be able to eat this size, as it may have to be cut in half. It takes me relatively around 30 minutes to eat this.

If your having problems with improper portions, you can go to the baby/toddler aisle and they sell the plastic divided plates based off the new food Pyramid with sections marked for Protein, grain, veggies, fruits.

I just like a visual. I am back on liquids today, because no matter what size, it's not going down (so many jokes so little space). But really.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
