wildrose1966 396 Posted September 25, 2012 I have had a pain free, gas free recovery........up until about 4pm today.....Thought I kinked my shoulder a bit, muscle pain, and it got worse and worse and I realized that I have gas pain (really bad) under my shoulder blade....oh my. No deep breaths or standing up straight. Sucking back the gas-x, peppermint tea and walking around - I knew I couldn't get away with such a good recovery. shanc625 18 Posted September 26, 2012 I too am 8 days out and the burping and gas have been in full force since day two, lessening now, however i do have that pain in my neck/ shoulder blade. Glad to know it takes a while to go away, i thought something was wrong. Any suggestions on how to shave your legs in the shower? Having some difficulty maneuvering around the port incision while bending over. Just throwing it out there

I managed to shave my legs in the sauna the other day, so I might be good for a few...........at least it is fall up here so not alot of shorts. shanc625 18 Posted September 26, 2012 Luckily im in new england so while i am out of work , sweat pants and yoga pants have been getting the job done. Cant say i had too much pain, just overall discomfort and the rumbling of gas.
ElleG 394 Posted September 26, 2012 The shoulder will eventually get better but it will be a while. Hang in there! My doc says there is a nerve that is affected in the surgery that causes the pain. Now one year out I will get the pain for a minute or two if I eat to much.

Aprilsnewlife 7 Posted September 26, 2012 Ok I am 4 days post op and I just started feeling really bad pain in my neck and like down through my heart, it feels worse when I drink anything almost like what I would think a heart attack feels like... Anyone know if thats ok? My tummy doesn't even hurt compared to this pain and I have shortness of breath. Probly just gass but I haven't heard anyone complain about their heart
shanc625 18 Posted September 26, 2012 April, My guess is that the pain you are feeling is some after effects of the gas used during surgery. I have experienced similar discomfort. I also had shortness of breath due to discomfort taking deep breaths due to the gas pain. Much of that has started to subside with lots of walking and some gas x chewables. I am by no means an expert since I am new to this but if the pain worsens i would call the dr or go to the er. Better safe than sorry.
