Tsign36 37 Posted September 25, 2012 I wish I could answer you, when I got my first fill last week I didn't do any barium... or any numbing for that matter... just stuck the needle in and then drank a little Water after.... Hope you are feeling better today!
Doweegirl 11 Posted September 25, 2012 I also just had the needle and then drank Water. Why did you have to do a Barium?
barblox 24 Posted September 25, 2012 I had to drink it to make sure it went down ok so they could see if I can tolerate liquids! The dr just thinks I passed out from low sugar

kll724 3,055 Posted September 25, 2012 I have never heard of this, so I am agreeing with hippychick74. What did they say in the office? Best wishes to you. (((()))) Karen
TampaGina 11 Posted September 25, 2012 ?? I had my first fill a cpl weeks ago and it was 4cc...I didn't feel any restriction before and don't really now? What is the typical fill amount? Thanks!
Juli Salzman 41 Posted September 25, 2012 I just had my first fill. The Dr. Put in 4cc then hade drink a little barium and he watched it go down in the fluoroscope. He counted how long it took to go through my pouch then removed 1cc because it took to long. It was really cool seeing my port and watching as the liquid went through my band. I could see the difference when there was too much restriction. After that, I drank a cup of Water. He said people often pass out because the procedure goes right by the Vegas nerve. I love going where I go because its a teaching environment. There are always interns being taught, so I learn a lot. 1 barblox reacted to this
juliemarie777 5 Posted September 26, 2012 I get my first fill tomorrow don't feel any restriction now, but am afraid of feeling it afterwards. I just don't want to vomit or choke ever! Hopefully I won't have any issues. Wish me luck! Praying it all goes great for me. God Bless You! Julie
