I was banded yesterday at 9:00 and left at 11:00 walked around the outlet mall for an hour and just kept walking a lot! I feel really good. Praise God the doctor said it went so well. I feel a little gas pain but nothing unbearable. I am so thankful things are going so well. I started pureed food this morning and it went down just fine.

I am on liquids only for 4 days. I feel so weak. I'm not in pain, but have no energy or appetite. I take a few sips of Protein mixed in Water, broth , Gatorade, juice. I have to do this until Saturday. I thought I would be up and on the go in 3 days, but I guess everyone heals differently.

Not taking pain meds either. I just want my energy back.

You are really lucky! I am on Clear Liquids for 5 days and then regular liquids for 2 weeks before I can even puree anything. I'm guessing your weakness and lack of energy comes from the anesthesia they used. I'm not even allowed to put Protein with Water until the 5 days is up. I think you need to walk some in order to get your energy level back up. I took the pain meds until today because I really don't need them today. The only thing that hurts is the largest incision, and that's only to touch. We all are different - just find what works for you. Drink tons of water - sip, sip, sip! Good luck and don't give up. I have already begun my Vitamin regimentation and I think the chewable B12s help, as well as the Multivitamin. Make you're taking something. Keep us posted!

I was told not to take my Vitamins until I go to see my doctor. I called to confirm. I am just feeling weakened but I do feel better having showered and walked around the house. My husband has been savior through all this.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
