What To Do

Here is my issue

I was having a lot of reflux and taking the Prilosec (generic) twice a day still had the reflux. They took out all the Fluid Had the wonderful barium swallow and the went in for the scope.

After the scope the dr said he did not see any issues from the reflux. He just said the band is pissing my stomach off and probably should have it out Come to see me in 3 weeks. Well I saw the PA ( he is the one that we see for fills and such). As I had an appointment scheduled with him for follow up after the tests

Well the PA looked at the test results and said everything was fine and he put 3ml (whatever measurement) and we would work back up to were I was before deflation. Well that was a week a go I stopped taking the Prilosec to see what will happen and sure as heck I had reflux. Well it felt like the start of reflux. So I started taking the pills again.

So basically I am frustrated. Sick I the reflux

I have yet to make the appointment. With the dr that did the scope. (he was the same surgeon the place my band 5-6 yrs ago).

So I am thinking that u will be calling him this week to schedule something. But don't want to piss of the PA that I see (they are in the same office)

Even with the rapid fill that the PA did I still am hungry and have slight acid

Think I am kind of done The most I have lost with the band is 50 lbs have kept it off.

I am sorry to say it sould like u are were i was i ended up having my band removed and a by pass done i lost 125 pounds with the band. one dr said the band looked fine but after constant vomiting ven in my sleep and the acid shooting out y noise and the severe arm pain along with the dialiated and parlized espougas i had had enough when the surgent went in the band had slipped and had causes severe damage requiring 2 hrs of repair surgery. I am glad to say that i am 3 1/2 weeks out and on the mend did relize how misurable i was and how servere the problems were until the band was removed. Dont get me wrong my band was good to me but i did the same thing you are doing unfills refills with no previal i would recomend you do whats best for you and not to worrie about pissing off the pa it not his stomach that is in trouble. I didnt lay flat for 4 month before they took the band out. Wish you luck

Sorry to hear about your issues! Did you suffer from reflux before having the lap band surgery?

Sorry about your problems too, but I wouldn' t worry about pissing off the PA, he does not have a MD behind his name.

Also PA's almost killed my granddaughter b/c sometimes they think they're smarter than they really are. My daughter now does not let her see any PA. She is a very complicated child.

Best of luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
