I wore a lose fitting dress home myself. My ride home was over an hour. So I wanted to be comfortable.

I wore a pajama set and slippers. It was nice and loose and it worked out well for my drive home which was about an hour and a half.

sweatpants a camisole from LB (ditched the bra to due to staples) sweatshirt over camisole.

Slip on shoes

But my Or date was in Dec and it was cold out I still got the sweatshirt i wore home it is way to big now(it looks like a tent)

Comfort is the most important thing Driving home can be wierd but thankfuly you will have help to get you home and safely in a comfortable spot to recover. Good luck on your impending surgery

I wore a sweat shirt and sweat pants I had one and half hour drive and I took pain meds as I got in the car and slept for the 11/2 hour drive Then slept when I got home and lived in jammmies for the next 4 days. I stayed one night in the hospital and thought I would die nurse didn't bring pain meds and then knocked me out. The next day we stayed in a motel because we needed to b e near the Dr . and then came home . I slept most of the time . I knock out after pain meds, my husband likes it that way no whining.

Keep it loose and comfortable. No pressure on your incisions or your abdomen.

Thank you, Thank you! The only time I've been in the hospital was to have my tonsils out (when I was 21!) and to give birth 4 times. So this will be my first real cut open experience. I ESP love the pillow between the seat belt idea! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
