How Much Did U Lose First Week?

Recommended Posts

Am I the only person that is stepping on the scale every day since surgery? I know each scale is different. Week before surgery I weighed in at 323 at the surgeons office stepped on today I'm at 305.

I'm sure many do weigh themselves regularly right after surgery, however considering you just had surgery 7 days ago I'd advise against it.

The first 4-6 weeks after surgery are for healing, not losing. Many don't lose at all during this time, some even gain a little. If I were you, I'd put the scale away for at least the next month and focus on healing.

I'm not "trying to lose" just sipping. the liquid diet is obviously what is doing it. im losing 2-3 pounds a day. Isnt that too much?

I was banded 8/11 and down 30 lbs, I weigh weekly and this is first week I didn't lose any. :-( freaking out, fearful and would go get a fill right now if I could.

Panic stricken

I think 30lbs is insanely awesome. U have to remember your body is in panic mode to hold on to anything.. Breathe because this diet will work for u the way its supposed to

Congrats on your lost. Have u had a fill yet?

Until I have first fill and on full diet thats when I will feel like I'm losing weight. That I'm in control of it. Like now me losing weight is because I'm taking in few cals because of being on liquid diet.< /p>

Dr. Almanza said some people never need a fill. I was hoping I might be one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
