I haven't had it happen, but I think when you have a slip, it hurts and you can't keep anything down.

Itching incisions are totally normal. That means they're healing!

I was allowed to walk immediately after surgery. I had to wait a month for anything else.

The itching drove me crazy it's normal your healing. Hang in there :)

Thankfully I have no experience with slipping so I can't offer much there. Good luck

Itching is normal, means everything is healing. Unless it becomes really red and hot and at that point call your Dr.

We read so much about slipping bands that we become freaked out, but I believe if you follow your Drs. orders and only eat what you're suppose to and chew, chew, chew you will be all right. The big thing here is "Follow your Drs. orders".

Good luck to you all!

My band slipped after almost 2 1/2 yrs. Most likely from my excessive vomiting. I used vomiting as a way to stop the pain when I ate too fast. Not anymore tho!

I never really had pain, per se. I began having severe nighttime reflux. I could keep most things down, but I was miserable at nite. After 4 mths of misery, my husband finally talked me into seeing my dr (I was so acraid of losing my band). After an xray disgnosed a minor slip, he unfilled my band by 50%. 8 started getiiing small fills again about 4 wks later. But after my 2nd 1 cc fill, I started the severe reflux again. Went back and they xrayed me again. The slip hadn't gotten any better (you"d think they would've done a follow up xray before they stafted filling me again). My PA told me he treats my symptoms not my xray. So he took out the revent 1cc fill to stop the reflux. It did stop. Temporarily. It started coming back about 4a wks later. Now I have it about twice a week. Guess I'll just suffer with it. Don't want to complain too much and lose my band.

Just wanted to tell u that there's not always pain with a slip. Sometimes its reflux or nausea.

Good luck

Marci

As for the itching incisions, yes, that is normal. I went to Walgreens and bought a hydrocortison spray to help stop the itching and just "misted" my belly with it. It helped a lot. :)

On the exercise front, my dr said I could do whatever I felt capable of at my one month follow up visit. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
