That's funny because my surgeon just called mE back and yes you can get dumping with the lapband and he said that's exactly what I had happen

Then you are the 1% that have some issue with your intestines, because dumping is is not a symptom of Lap Band. This is directly from the makers of Lap Band:

"Dumping syndrome occurs when sugar enters the lower intestine too quickly, resulting in cramps, sweating, rapid heart rate, and diarrhea. Dumping syndrome can occur with gastric bypass surgery, but not with LAP-BAND® because the stomach has not been bypassed and intestines have not been significantly altered."

sorry , but that is 100% incorrect

please get your facts straight before some prebies or newbies actually believe some of the stuff you have been posting.:

No Dumping Syndrome with the LAP-BAND®

Rapid gastric emptying, or dumping syndrome, often occurs with gastric bypass surgery but not with LAP-BAND® Surgery. Dumping syndrome, an intolerance of sugars and some carbohydrates, happens when concentrated and undigested foods such as sweets enter the lower intestine (jejunum) too quickly. Symptoms of dumping include nausea, vomiting, cramping, dizziness, and weakness. Dumping syndrome does not occur with LAP-BAND®, but it is still best to avoid sweets in order to maximize weight loss and the nutritional value of your diet.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
