I was banded August 30 and had my 2 week follow up on Monday. To date I don't have any Fluid in my band and feel like a failure at mealtime because I know I'm eating more than 6 oz before I'm full. Has anyone else had this issue? I can't get my first fill until Oct 9 and in my mind I'm stretching out my pouch already.... HELP

Hi

PLEASE don't feel frustrated. It takes a lot to stretch your pouch.

I have document that may help you with cravings and night time snacking... I've talked about it over the years...but because your new you probably have not seen it. It's called the "Egg Timer Distraction Trick" It's kind of hard to explain here but i'd be happy to email it to you.

Please e-mail me and I'll send you the .pdf file.

In the subject line put Egg Timer Trick.

Also, make sure you take one bite at a time... and finish what you have in your mouth before your take your next bite. I also have CD with lots of lapband recipes and articles that I've complied over the past 6 years... I'd be happy to mail you a copy.

If you would like to chat on the phone to ask questions I have free long distance and would be happy to chat with you.. I have a group of "band-buddies" that a chat with on the phone with on a regular basis both in Canada and the US.

Thank you so much! I've emailed you. How much would you need for a copy of your recipes?

Hi Harleymelm

I haven't received your e-mail yet

tomander@bell.net

It would be my pleasure to send you the CD ... consider it my good deed for the day.

Try e-mailing again and I'll send you the file... also send me your address so I can send you the CD. I just sent a CD to my friend Elaine in Texas (she was also recently banded) and it took just over a week. I'm live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Tom

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
