Hello everyone! I'm getting banded on October 3rd and I'm going out today to shop for my first two weeks! My nutritionist recommended I buy Isopure for protein...has anyone bought this ? I just want some feedback before i go out and buy it as it is quite pricey!!!

My doc recommended the juicy, but frozen into pop's for after surgery. That way you get the Protein and the taste good too. I hear the liquid is pretty thick but the powdered protein is good too. You can also try Matrix Mint Cookie and cream or Costco's protein too. Both are awesome!

The grape Isopure is not terrible. The worst part is it kind of has a weird after-taste. You should be able to buy one bottle and see if you like it. It does have a lot of Protein and I drank it when I needed to get in more protein than I could eat.

I bought pure Protein vanilla and mix it with pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Today I mixed rasberry sugar free Jello in with the Protein Powder and it was good. The nutrionist told me also you could mix vanilla with sugar free orange for creamsicle. Just a couple ideas.

I like the Isopure Protein Drinks. I mix mine with 1/2 Water 1/2 Isopure. I also have to have it ice cold...I found a web site that you can order a variety box of 12 for $39.89 (about $3.32 a bottle)...www.luckyvitamin.com

Good luck!

I've only tried the fruit Isopure Protein drinks. Grape is definitely the best. (Think weak KoolAid.) Alpine Punch is alright too. Slight after taste to all, but not too bad. Green apple was beyond funky nasty to me. They are pricey though, but on buy one get one half off through the 27th at gnc... Just fyi.

I have tried the Isopure (I think it's Frosty Orange) Orange and the Alpine Punch. Both are good, but I drink them 1/2 Water 1/2 Isopure, and on a TON of ice! The weird after-taste seems to not exist when you mix it with water. They are a refreshing change from the thick Protein shakes!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
