The hardest part of all this is understanding the signals or lack of signals..... at this point you won't feel hungry. It took me a while to figure out the new signals. Sounds like you are doing it right' date=' your just not getting the response from your body that you are use to.....completely normal. As each day goes by your body will heal and you will learn the new signals. Keep doing what you are doing.[/quote']

Thank u. That's what I was trying to make sure. Ive been walking around and doing the Wii fit games a little. I thought I was gonna feel sore when I woke up but I didn't. Only one cut is still a little sore. Other than that I feel good. Only going crazy being in the house. I work two jobs and used to being on the go.

baby bowls maddys?? i spilled my tuna in my lunch bag 2 weeks ago and smelt it all day......hadnt wanted it since and was in my coach lunch bag.........boo hoo hooo

They told us to buy baby plates and bowls I guess to mentally see the bowl full instead of thinking u are eating a little bit. At first I wasn't but I found bowls with lids at Walmart that came in a pack of seven for 3 bucks. I would say it holds about a cup of liquids.

Well as long as you're sticking to Drs orders you'll do fine.

When do you get your first fill?

Now AJ are you allowed to use a straw?

I know all Drs orders are different' date=' but most say no straw.j/s[/quote']

Doctor didn't say no straws, he said that straws cause air to build up in the belly and can be uncomfortable. I sometimes use a straw when I do Protein shakes (cause I like straws), but I have to be careful not to drink them too fast. Straws are one of those things that everyone argue about. They cause air in the stomach and if you can't get it out it hurts like a son of a b*%&^. There hasn't been any scientific evidence of bands blowing off..... That I know about.

I was so excited to finally burp. The gas is like the only issue I have. But its lessening every day.

My husband complains that I burp and fart way more than I ever did before my band...guess I'm not a princess.

Lol. I used to burp all the time. Like every swollow of liquids I had to burp. Not much farting. Now its the highlight of the day to get some air out. Lol. Thanks everyone for the convo. I was looking online and found this app. How perfect. I feel like I'm in an elite exclusive secret club. It was important for me to try to lose as much weight before surgery so co-workers especially wouldn't be able to obviously think I had surgery. I get a month off at UPS. A month off of not waking up at 3am. That's the second best thing about the surgery after losing the weight.

lol at this whole thread :)

I too am really shocked ur up to tuna fish and egg salad already. I had my band 10 days ago and still can't have that??? My surgeon gave me a huge packet of allowable foods at all stages post op. Do you have one?

Also if I were you I would NOT buy tuna and egg salad from subway/stores. You should make your own using fat free mayo. Imagine all that fat subways had!!! I'm alarmed for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
