First Fill And Pb'ing???

Recommended Posts

I got my first fill today. 2 cc's. I thought I was doing okay but I didn't make it out to my car before I started PB'ing. That was almost 3 hours and I'm still doing it. I have to admitt it has been a VERY stressful day as we've had a family crisis and I've cried pretty much all day. Plus my doctor asked me to drink plain luke warm tap Water while he was doing the fill and I absolutely cannot stand plain water, let alone luke warm water!!!! It makes me gag!!!! Do you think the stress of today or the plain water has made me sick or do you think I've gotten too much for my first fill?? Do you think taking a walk will help?

Did you have fill at time of surgery or do you only have 0.2cc? It's unusual, but not impossible, that you could be too tight. Are you having trouble consuming liquids or are you trying to eat normal foods? I recommend sticking to liquids for the first 48 hours post fill.

I've not tried to eat or drink anything since I got home. I feel like I can't swallow and I've got a "burp" stuck in my throat. Ugh!!! I'm supposed to do liquids for 24 hours and then mushies for 24 hours. I think I'll just go to bed. It's been a bad day!!

If you feel that in your throat, I would recommend going back to the Dr and getting a small amount removed.

Thursday night and Friday day were horrible. I wasn't even able to drink much Water. It hurt so bad. It felt like I was trying to swallow a golf ball. Saturday I could drink my Vitamin water and applesauce. Saturday night I tried to eat a mushie green pepper and onion---no way, it came back up! Today I tried a few bites of chicken, same thing. But this evening I have had a Protein Shake and a vitamin water and they have stayed down and didn't hurt going down. Do you think I was just swollen from the fill, or do you think I still have too much and need to go back for an unfill? I am going to call my Dr. first thing in the morning to see if I can be seen tomorrow. Hopefully this will get taken care of. Even though I'm not really hungry, I have been having head hunger (and the weirdest cravings) like crazy!!! I have not had caffeine or carbonated beverages since the end of May but the last couple of days I think I could have drank a whole case of soda!!! :-(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
