PattyGirl66 1,243 Posted September 20, 2012 Hi Orlando, I think frozen meals are great to have *sparingly*, the reason I say this is because if most of your meals are 'frozen' meals, your sodium levels are super high. this could lead to Water retention as well and to be honest its still 'processed' foods and you really should be very careful with them as eating them in high quanity can be more harmful. Have you tried preparing your own meals? I bet you they would be much more satisfying and of course healthier. You can try preparing them before hand and freezing them so that they are easily accessible to you. Don't eliminate carbs out of your diet all together, in the long run you will pay dearly for it. Wholesome grains, wheats, oats, Beans are 'fulling' foods. Always measure 1 cup of food together, this should be 3-4 oz of lean meat, 1/4 cup of veggies, 1/4 cup of carb. Potatoes are not bad for you, its what you put on it. As a matter of fact is a very good carb, whole wheat Pasta, anything with 100% whole wheat is great. Someone on here gave us a great recipe for homemade pizza: 1 whole wheat pita bread (half) 2/3 cups of Pasta Sauce 1/4 cup of low fat mozzarella cheese (shredded) *Put the pita bread in the oven for about 10 mins to get it toasted, take out and add the rest of the ingrediants* put back in the oven till everything is melted. You can also doctor this up adding fresh sliced tomatoes, turkey bacon, black olives, feta cheese, even cubed chicken breast. Possibilities are endless.... 3 Maddysgram, baparrett70 and pglenn1975 reacted to this
