I use to like McD's but now I can't stand the taste of their food. I have ordered their salads and they are good. No hamburgers and fries for me though.

I occasionally take my 4 year old there for a dinner (when mom is out of town). She gets a happy meal. I don't get anything. It bothered me the first time, less the next, and by the third time, the smell of it actually made me a little sick to my stomach. Funny, I used to love to take her there, I'd eat a double quarter pounder with cheese, largest size of fries, 6 piece nuggets, and one of those icecream Desserts, or a large vanilla shake.

I'd always get a diet cola, though! heh heh heh

I still go to McDonald's for breakfast and I get an Egg McMuffin with no cheese and only eat the egg and sausage and toss the English muffin...I usually get some ketchup for the egg and sausage if it's too dry. And I LOVE their coffee! I would love to get a big ol' cheeseburger and take a big ass bite but I know it would just kill me! But I still make do with fast-food since I have kids that want it still. I usually get a salad from all of them...McD's, Sonic, BK, Wendy's, Whataburger and from Taco Bell I get the burrito supreme and take the inside out and throw away the tortilla or I order a side order of their Beans. I guess it's all in how you figure it out I guess. And I buy a tea or water...NO sodas. I don't want my family to have to suffer because of me and what I can and can't have.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
