Bad Day, Lessons Learned!

Recommended Posts

So my mother in law got to me yesterday (no she is not my favorite person). This caused hubby and me to argue, go figure. nd totally through me off kilter for the day. Didn't exercise, didn't take my walking breaks at work, ate too much of not the best choices.

So I woke this morning thinking what have I learned from this.

1. Don't let mil get under your skin....

2. Don't allow emotions to stop your journey, exercise would of helped vent the fustration.

3. Measure ALL your food even when you don't want to or have the I don't give a rats ass right now attitude. Especially then!

4. Don't take it out on hubby, he didn't getto pick his mom out. Course making up was fun......

5. Forgive yourself, brush yourself off and start fresh. You are worth it.

Just wanted to write down my lessons learned and share them with my friends. Today is going to be a beautiful day!

bad days and bad times happen

i think most of us with WLS understands that we have used

foods/etc to (appease us and make us feel better) i know i did

my MIL is a difficult woman also and def being around her makes me

feel like sh** but you know what, its part of life.

i try to tell myself to the haters of me (and in my job, there are many)

its on you. not me. you are not winning.

if i let her (my MIL) or someone get to me, they won.

and i am stronger than that. just like you tx. you are gorgeous.

so what you didnt eat (right--what is that anyhow) and you didnt exercise (one day wont matter much.....i am sure you walked and moved so that counts) (even more if its good sex)........so to me, you didnt do so bad.

hang in there GF :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
