Should I See My Doctor?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone... I went for my 3 fill on Monday and that day I was on liquids all day so I was fine. Yesterday I ate a small brkfst and lunch but at night I tried to eat and got stuck so I threw up. This morning I had a small breakfst and around 11:00 am I had a yogurt and then at 12:30 went to have lunch and on my second bite I threw up. I remember my doctor said that if I threw up too much I had to go see him because he does not want the band to slip....My questions is: when should I really worry and go see him? I know it happens to everybody and just dont want to be the naggy patient. Thank you for your responses

do you think you were following the "rules" while you were eating... small bites, slowly etc? If you were you may be too tight and need an unfill.

With my second fill I threw up twice before I called my doc for an unfill. The first time I thought I was eating too fast, the second time I knew I was too tight.

If you were eating too much, to quickly you may just need to go back to liquids/mushies for a couple of days to let your pouch calm down then restart solids.

Of course it doesn't hurt to call your doctor's office and get their opinion. Better safe then sorry. Hope things get better for you soon.

My sign of tightness is acid reflux that starts with only 1 bite of food. I've never thrown up with the band so I'm not sure. But I would say that if you throw up 3 times in 3 days, you should go back.

I would call the office and tell them what's going on. You will probably speak with one of the nurses. They can give you advice on the next step to take wether it's an unfill or trying liquids for a few days et.... Good luck and feel better soon.
