Cute puppy! Dogs are the best incentive to get out and walk! No matter how tired I am when I get home from work there he is, all love and affection, waiting for me to love him up and take him for a walk. Jake's an American Bulldog - 85 lbs of solid muscle from tip of tail to tip of nose and stroll was never programmed in to him. We power walk and he pulls some if not going fast enough so i get to work the legs and the arms! If we don't go for some reason ( 30 below zero with a wind chill and snow will keep me at home!) he pouts and drives us nuts with his ball all night. :biggrin1:

LOL thanks everyone!! My hubby travels alot, so this lil guy is just perfect for cuddling up when I'm feeling lonely. He's already found his spot in our bed, right between our pillows :/ He's gonna be sooooooooooo rotten heh, and I'm lovin it *g*

Now I've just gotta find to sneak him into the hospital when I have my PS, cause I hate leaving him at home lol.

Pat - that's seriously disturbing :) I nearly spat my coffee hehe.

David said I couldn't have one either .. but I bugged him everyday for several weeks, heaps! He even designated a "no puppy talk" day once lol. Finally, he caved, as I insisted it would be good company for me while he's gone on his business trips (and I think he was just tired of hearing me talk about puppies and emailing him pictures of puppies).

Jess, your puppy is adorable. What a sweetie. I have a new puppy too, she is a 4 month old german shepherd. I also have a 3 year old chocolate lab and a five year old longhaired doxy. Can you tell I love dogs???

All she needs is a tiara.

Do you believe I actually CARRY this dog outside and put her down on the grass to do her business? She won't just walk out the door when you open it, like any ordinary pooch.

I could have sworn I answered your question, 3loves. I guess I'm more senile than I thought.

Lucy is a 14 month old Shih Tzu. Her mom is a small standard and her dad is a mini, so she's not as big as most - just 5 pounds.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
