I have to work my part time job all week-end and then last day of school MOn, the part time again on Mon evening. Surgery at 8:00 on Tues. moning. There isn't any time to get nervous... also no time to grocery shop. I don't have all my liquids ready to go yet. Guess I'll have to do that tomorrow after 6. Papajoe 0 Posted May 21, 2006 hello everybody, i just got back from mexico from having surgery with dr rumbaut on may 11th. many people were there at the same time from the states. i lost 21.5 lbs in 10 days on the liquid diet (last 3 days of that were clear liquids). had several minor problems (none of them medical),with hotel, etc., but overall was good. dr r. and staff are very good, friendly, and kind. nursing care at hosp. could have been better though. now i have 3 weeks of full liquids ahead of me, then soft foods.i am glad to be back home and enjoyed looking over the posts i missed while gone. good luck to all may bandsters!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Hey babyjane are you from the northwest?? My wife and I were both banded the 11th by Dr. Rumbaut. We are having good results. Good luck!!!!
sisterfunkhaus 3 Posted May 21, 2006 Good luck to all those who are getting bands this week!! I'm doing pretty well on my liquids. I had 1/2 a pickle, that's been my cheat. I'm a little hungry, but I know it's for a good cause.
MarianneTN 0 Posted May 21, 2006 Hey Merry May'ers! I had a huge NSV this weekend... I saw friends I haven't seen since about a month before surgery. When I got out of the car at their house, one of the folks said... "Oh my! Your face is getting skinny!" Yes, I'm glowing....

laurapar 0 Posted May 21, 2006 Marianne What's NSV?
Stitchy 0 Posted May 21, 2006 Laura Par - NSV = Non-scale victory. I.e. old clothes now fit. Someone didn't recognize you. An unexpected compliment. You can walk farther, etc.
Mystjin 0 Posted May 21, 2006 NSV is a non surgical victory. Smaller size, loose rings, crossing your legs. Perks from losing weight.
Mystjin 0 Posted May 21, 2006 Here is a page with a lot of abbreviations on it, It helped me out a lot! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7959&highlight=abbreviations
LindaV 0 Posted May 21, 2006 Heresdeb, I would definately call my doctor, or of your surgeon isn't local, call your primary care and make an appointment. You might just be experiencing gas, but, that shouldn't make you short of breath. A pulmonary infection can be treated pretty easily, but, you can do serious damage to your lungs if you have one and don't get it treated. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!! MarianneTN 0 Posted May 21, 2006 I've tried very hard to build my success with this around the non-scale stuff. If I get caught up in what the number says on the scale, I freak out. I'm trying very hard to be healthy in all ways...mentally, physically and so forth. Having old clothes fit, having someone compliment how my face is thinning, being able to be more active, etc are the most important things to me. Takin' it one day at a time....
