I finally hit that sweet spot. I don't have to go back for 6 weeks!!! I am only eating a 1/2 a cup of food at a time. I didn't think that would ever happen. Does anyone still have trouble with regurgitation even though you're eating slowly and chewing your food into mush?

Yes, I do. I am close to my sweet spot I think but things get stuck a lot so I'm wondering if I'm too tight. Still trying to figure that out so somethings I do have to throw up.

You should never have to throw up. You are probably too tight. Hope you can find the right place. Good luck!

I can't believe you can only eat 1/2 c. Is that total? What does your dr recommend? My nut says 2-3 ounces of Protein, 1/3 c veggie and 1/3 c good carb. You should never be regurgitating either. I hope you find the right place to be comfortable and be able to live life!

Thanks SueBee. After reading more posts and changing the way I ate my dinner last night I think I'm just taking too big of bites and still eating too fast. I always eat too fast so this has been a big adjustment for me. I'm learning everyday.

I still eat to fast too but I never get stuck or slime as I only had one fill. You will get there, just cut things up in really small pieces.

I still get stuck a lot and I know it has to do with taking too big bites or not chewing enough. I've discussed this problem at my doctor's and they keep reminding me it's a learning curve. I've eaten one way for 46 years, and another for less than a year. It is every single bite of food, every single meal. Sometimes it's super frustrating, but I wouldn't trade my lapband for anything.

I've noticed it happened when I was hungrier,so now I try to pay extra attention at those times.

I'm with you. I ate the same forever too. It took a couple months. But I only have had one fill so I do not keep my band tight. I don't ever want to experience a stuck episode, get sick or PB. Cut everything up in small pieces and chew to mush! You will get it. The drinking too much and too fast is still a problem for me over a year out and it makes me burp a lot.

Good Luck Laney!

I had my surgery October 29th 2012. I am currently 70lbs down. I have been losing weight slower in the past month but noticed the inches are still going down. I have lost a total of 20 inches around my waste alone. Seems unreal. Lol. Heck even my neck is 2.5 inches smaller around.

So, it's been a while since I've been on here...I'm a Halloween bandster!! I have lost a total of 51 pounds but have been unemployed for the last 2 months and have gained about 10 pounds. Obviously not making good choices and eating too much of it. I need a reboot for sure. Any advice you have to offer is greatly appreciated :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
