DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 17, 2012 I'm not sure what a hiatal hernia has to do with the band? A band won't fix a hernia and the hernia would have to be fixed regardless of the band. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
SusieSunshine 68 Posted September 17, 2012 Yes how was insurance going to pay? Just curious?
TKW 501 Posted September 17, 2012 hmmm. seems odd to me too. My Dr. didn't know I had a hernia until he did the surgery. Same thing with my brother. But seems odd they'd pay for the band if you had a hernia? 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
PattyGirl66 1,243 Posted September 17, 2012 very odd to say the least. Please give us more information.....
prinxs 41 Posted September 17, 2012 Her insurance would have covered the hernia surgery, and she would have had to pay just for the ban only and not the surgery cost. Basically, her insurance doesn't cover the lap band, but if she had hiatial hernia it would cover the surgery and dr would have added the lap band. So instead of paying 10k for the lap ban surgery she would have paid $5500 just for the band. 2 Maddysgram and vmarlau reacted to this

ladymarshall 61 Posted September 17, 2012 wow!!!!!! i'm sorry to hear that because sadly I am in the same situation I haven't had my test done yet, but I am praying that I have one. But either way I am going to have it done, but it will be sooo much better if I do have the hernia. Where were/are you having your surgery?

prinxs 41 Posted September 17, 2012 Do the payment plan. Look at this way...once you get a lap band your food expense will be low and that contribute to the monthly payments. 2 binab and vmarlau reacted to this
