lauren1983 1 Posted September 15, 2012 For the past 2 days I haven't been able to keep any food down. My last fill was 5 weeks ago and haven't changed diet or eating habits. Just seems like all of a sudden nothing will go down. Puzzled as to what is causing the sudden need to spit everything up. Anyone had the same happen?? 2muchfun 8,927 Posted September 15, 2012 I go through spells where I get stuck often. Then I'll go 1-2 weeks and everything slides through. Is there a particular type of food that gets stuck? Can you drink fluids and still eat Soup? You're fairly new to this and learning to eat with the band takes time. Small bites? Chewing a lot? Eating slowly? tmf 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

There could be a problem with the position of your band. I would call your surgeon's office ASAP to let them know what is happening. lauren1983 1 Posted September 15, 2012 I had my banding back in may. Yes Soup and fluids go down. I'm normally careful with chewing and it's been two days since real food stayed down. Not sure if it's something I should be worried about that's all.
Sojourner 2,446 Posted September 15, 2012 Are you monitoring your portion sizes? Perhaps mushies would be tolerable? The concern I would have is that you are not getting the proper nutrition you need. I would be discussing this with your surgeon ASAP; their practice should have coverage to discuss medical issues and concerns 24/7.
tere1985 16 Posted September 15, 2012 Hi Lauren. Could it be that time of the month? For some odd reason when it's my time I can barely keep liquids down! And I usually start getting stuck frequently a couple days before. I have no idea why this happens.. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
lauren1983 1 Posted September 16, 2012 Well that was strange! Did a 12km city to bay fun run and finished starving. Ate as normal and no spit up! This is very weird to say the least 1 kah1213 reacted to this
Skyvic 226 Posted September 16, 2012 I do go through this at various times. Lisyen to body for extra salt in diet, bloating, virus or illness, Water intake and hydration, any of this can cause my "toddler" band to go ape and temperamental. It's crazy and mysterious because I never know. I have learned that if I lay down for a period of time that it tightens. Heat and humidity can change it. Most of all lack of hydration will rely make it tight.
lauren1983 1 Posted September 16, 2012 I'm glad I'm not the only one. I guess these bands are very temperamental. Im still going for full blood screen at gp today just to make sure I'm getting the right nutrients, just to be safe. Thank you to all of you for your feedback it has put my mind at ease
