That's great it worked out well for you, but there was someone else a couple weeks ago who chose to not follow the Dr's diet and even though she lost 15lb +, the Dr closed her back up without a band because her liver was still too large.

I hope you're feeling well.

So, you believe the "bandster diet" to be torture, and you reference your doctor as "stupid"...

I predict your're going to be experiencing a major reality check very soon...I wish you luck, because it would seem that you will need all you can get.

Best wishes to reach your goal weight...

I am wondering how you will do with the band? It's all about learning to eat correctly and following the Dr and nutritionalist's food plan.I really hope you do well but from your post it seems you haven't started off on the right foot. I always tried to go about things my own way and never listened to Dr's. It didn't get me very far. I wish you good luck on your journey but i do hope you will start listening to what your Dr tells you. Also, if you don't respect him ( ex: calling him stupid ) you may not have that support that you will need. You have to work with your Dr, be honest, and go to all your appointments. Good luck.

I didn't have a pre-op diet either. I wish you the best. We all fall short of what we are supposed to do at some point. Just remember that your doctor is telling you based on his experience and being dishonest with your doctor is also Wong dishonest with yourself. I started to eat soft foods a few days ahead of time and stopped losing weight. I realized that was God reminding me that I made a commitment to Him and myself to improve my temple. Don't let anyone discourage you...you will be successful because we all fall down and that doesn't matter as long as we learn from it and get back up! GOOD LUCK

Sorry for laughing! I just couldn't fathom why you would use a Dr who was stupid and believe me, I've seen some stupid Drs.

Drugs are good, drugs are good. Just not while txting.

Best wishes on your journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
