I quit using chantix. After about a week, you will notice you want one less and less. It made me not even care. No desire most of the time and then if you do want one it will last about 5 minutes. I would just get up and find something to do.Hang in there it will work, just be strong. I feel so much better.

I have to chime in on this.. and I know that some will say that I didn't really quit.. but... this is what I did.. I am a 31 year pack a day smoker. I tried chantix last year and only made it three weeks before I went right back to the cigarettes.. When I knew I wanted to get the lapband earlier this year I knew that they would make me quit smoking.. and besides, I want to run.. can't run while your wheezing up a lung. HA! Anyway... I had some left over chantix from last year.. so.. I started my chantix... and bought myself an electronic cigarette. Now before all the anti-smoking peeps chime in.. I was able to graduate myself from a high dose of nicotine down to no nicotine... I found that with the chantix, it takes away the craving... but not the habit.. and the habit is what makes most go back to it. I was able to fight that habit with the electronic cigarette and it wasn't as stressful. As of today it has been 2 full months since I lit a cigarette. I still carry my electronic cigarette with me, and when I get stressed and need something to get me through, I reach for that.. and I'm good.. sometimes, I don't even touch it for a few days... but its there and better then the cigarettes.. I love the fact that I can breathe now... My tastebuds are back and I don't smell like an ashtray... give it a try.... and I hope it helps you too. I only had to take the chantix for 2 weeks.. then I quit that too.. GOOD LUCK!

Exactly... Its that stress you feel.. when you stop smoking.. you eat more, when you stop eating you smoke more.. thats the endless cycle for a smoker... there is also the habits associated with smoking, after you have a meal.. with your morning coffee, when your having a drink.. I don't even miss the regular cigarettes!!!

Oh.. and the cost is much better too.. the original e-cigarette and one filter cost me $18.99.... and the 3 pack of replacement filters cost me $12.99.... Each filter last me about 2 weeks!! More money for new clothes!!!

I used chantix and it worked but I was a raving lunatic for a bit.

Did the same on Meridia ( for wt loss). Can't handle SSRIs. (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor).

Started again later. Quit cold turkey this time. I want the Lapband. Knew I'd have to. Motivation is the name of the game
