Embarassing Food Story...

Recommended Posts

At the age of 19, just 2 years of giving birth to my daughter I felt a lump on my breast. Of course I got really scared and nervous so I went to a doctor where then he told me to go to a specialist to have that lump checked out.

Knowing I had to get up really early in the morning to do this, I went out with two of my best friends at a local bar and drank. Yes, I drank quite a bit and was home after the bar closed at 2am.

When I got home I was really, no I mean reallly hungry but to drunk to cook. I noticed a large bag of pistachios sitting on the table. Oh, wow that was nice of hubby to bring them home. So, I sat down and ate them nuts like they were going out of style. I soon crawled in the bed fully dressed.

Morning came and I woke up late, nooo really late! I only had time to do three things. Change underwear, brush teeth, and comb hair.

As I sit in the doctors office waiting for the the doctor to come in, two of his assistance stood in the room with me. The doctor came in and asked me to remove my bra, which I did...

To my horror, pistachios and shells fell as I lifted up my bra. The 2 nurse scurried out of the room and I was left with the doctor alone. I put my head down and cried of embarrassment. He didn't say anything, he handed me a tissue as I quickly tried to brush the stuck on shells from my breast.

I could only imagine how I must of been the pun of the joke while put under while he did the biopsy. Yes, the overweight girl who had pistachios that fell from her bra. I know I will never forget, and I am sure they didn't either...

Oh wow, I needed that laugh today, although I know it wasn't funny at the time it happened to you.

I'll share my most embarrassing band food story. I was out to eat with my 20-year-old son. Just a normal small amount of meat and veggies, but it was cooked poorly and dry, so I knew I might be in trouble. We got to the car and were on the same side putting in leftovers when I coughed. Just one little cough that caught me off guard, and I spewed chunks all over my son's shoes. He was totally grossed out, but it was so funny that we couldn't stop laughing. He'll never let me live it down either.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
