Keep in mind that some of this may be in your head too. One bad experience, and your mind could play tricks on you and "close up" before you get a fork near your mouth. Try some deep breathing before you eat. Also drink something about 30 minutes before to tell yourself that you're fine and the food WILL go through. But if you find something is giving you trouble (even if you've eaten it fine before), lay off that for a week and go on to something else. There were foods that I suddenly couldn't eat anymore a YEAR after my band. Give yourself time to adjust after those fills. You'll react differently to each one, so it's going to be a lot of trial and error.

I would give it a little time. I would also be sure to take small bites- and I mean really small bites. Chew it until mush and pause between bites.

I had some problems after a fill and almost went for an unfill after a couple days, but I started taking tiny bites and then I was fine.

I always have a hard time with yogurt. Takes me about 30 mins to eat 6 oz of it and then I want to throw up. You might be too tight. I'd give it a few days and if you still can't eat anything, talk to your doc!

Sounds like you might be too full. My 2nd fill I was too full, everytime I ate I got sick. I waited 10 days thinking it would get better with time. don't be in misery too long they took out .10 cc out of my band and it was instant relief.... Good luck.!!!

I know this sounds crazy but I find if I drink a cup or 2 of something hot first thing in the morning that my band seems to loosen up for the day and I can eat better especially after getting a fill. I do Decaf coffee so you may want to try that. My doctor tells me after getting a fill to stick to Protein Shakes for the first 24 to 48 hrs then work my way back up to regular food slowly. Good luck to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
