Hi, everyone. I am going to buy a new pair of sneakers tomorrow and I need some suggestions. Right now I have a pair of Fila " shape ups " when I first got them they were the best. Now though my feet hurt so bad when I walk. I know most of its due to the weight I gained in the last 4 mths ( quit my battle with cigarettes ) there are so many out there. How do I decide aside from trying them all on!

I have to buy Sketchers, they are comfortable when you put them on, you dont have to break them in. I have tried Nike, Reebok, etc but they all hurt my feet. Good luck

I am a skechers girl, always have been. They are soooo comfy, high thick soles for low impact when walking. Oh, don't forget stylish. I may be old, but I am rockin my kicks!! LOL

My hubs and I are New Balance folks. We have a New Balance store in our area and we go there. They measure your foot, check where you put the most weight and recommend what would work for you. We walk on a trail at night about 2-3 miles and bike ride 6 miles with these - never had a problem with them.

I would recommend finding a local running/walking store as they are trained to watch gate, etc and find you a shoe based on that.

I put on 20 lbs, and have been experiencing a lot of pain when walking. Turns out that I developed bone spurs. The podiatrist told me to get a pair of New balance sneakers.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
