Jif Chocolate Silk Peanut Butter

Recommended Posts

This might be a dumb question, but some where I read that having those snack containers of Jiff chocolate Silk Peanut Butter with strawberries are a good snack. Higher in calories but good Protein.< /p>

Seemed to go down ok. Keep in mind I have not had my first fill yet. But, my upper stomach lower chest is bugging me again. I had this the day before as a snack & had that discomfort in my chest yesterday.

Is PB not a good thing to have?

Read your nutrition label...That product is no longer available in my area, but if I recall, the chocolate flavor has many more carb grams and many less Protein grams than regular Peanut Butter. Don't forget that protein is your priority!

My surgeon does allow peanut butter on his recommended diet, but does not recommend it until a minimum of 6 months post op.

all foods are different to all people. Believe it or not, I wouldn't have a problem with the Peanut Butter, but with the strawberries! They don't go down as easy as you would think they would, at least not with me. At this point, you will eat so little, that to have a small amount is not going to hurt. I just had 10 wheat thins and 4 tablesppons of artichoke dip. I am full! and my craving is over!

I eat Peanut Butter and apples almost daily. The entire snack is about 150 calories, but it holds me for 4 hours and helps me get my Protein in. I use the Jif Natural Low Sodium PB. Some times I will get indigestion from the PB, but I also have so nothing new there. I take a zantac a day and that prevents any issues.

Peanut Butter was always one of my go to foods as a fat girl... So as delicious as it sounds I will stay away. I have tried a thin spread of pb on toast and I always get heartburn as I did when I was heavy and i hate that so I just deleted it from my grocery list

But it sure sounds yummy !

Where might we find PB2? My Protein Drink of choice is chocolate. The Peanut Butter powder would kick it up for me. Getting enough Protein is my biggest downfall.

Check their web site. I am not sure of it but you can Google it. I also think that Amazon has it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
