twinskins 13 Posted September 13, 2012 When did everyone have their first bowel movement after surgery? They didn't give me any stool softeners or anything and didn't really cover anything like that in the discharge instructions. I know everyone is different, but I had my surgery on Monday and still nothing.
goingfoit 125 Posted September 13, 2012 That is so funny that you posted this since I was wondering the same thing.I had surgery on tuesday and nothing. Not sure when to expect the first bowl movement, considering nothing really solid going in I've had Soup sf popsicles Jello and sf pudding. Any information on this would be helpful

lexx 20 Posted September 13, 2012 Hey everyone! This is a great question. I was banded on Monday aug 20. That was a Monday I did not have a BM until Thursday and let me tell you what an experience. First I got crazy gas pains in my lower abdomen then went I went it was all Water. Go figure since all I had was liquids! Same happened on Friday and I think it was just all the toxins leaving my body. As for the following weeks I've never really been regular but I'm only going maybe 2 times a week. Ive been having Greek yogurt everyday which seems to helpe, but defiantly need to start eating more fibre now that I can eat again! If anyone else has some tricks, please let me know! fostermomma 39 Posted September 13, 2012 I was actually scared to go BM after my surgery. I was banded last Friday and didn't go poo until Monday night and that was only after 2 supositories. I don't feel like I need to go but I know it isn't healthy for me not to let it out. I am also having a hard time drinking Water. Everytime I take a sip of something, I feel that familiar pressure between my breasts. does that mean it is still swollen or is it to tight. I have not tried mushies yet and I am a little nervous. blpchick 50 Posted September 13, 2012 I was advised to use milk of mag after my surgery and it worked very well. My surgeon told me to use it after the surgery to get things moving.
