All such GREAT rewards!

In the TMI category ... I am already feeling more confident being intimate with my man. I am looking towards that increasing even more!!

I think I am very lucky that I have always been able to tie my shoes or paint my toes or walk around a store... My perspective is already different b/c I realize some of what I have taken for granted.

Believe me... I have a LONG way to go to goal, but y'all that REALLY have had to start at ground zero... y'all are such AMAZING inspiration! ! Reading your joyous reports of achievement... it takes my breath away!! Please don't take this wrong b/c it's meant right... I always think if they can do this than I sure as heck can!! They make me understand how lucky I am this is happening for me at this point of my life.

I mean this from the bottom of my heart.... ALL of you are going to deserve credit in my soon to be success story!! Ha! I am even teary eyed writing this.

This may sound crazy as I am all of a sudden a little emotional after watching "What to Expect When You're Expecting" but I can't wait for what I've been told will be a completely different take on my social life when I get confidence in my appearance! I can't wait to be comfortable in social settings, and hopefully later in dating settings, which will be completely new territory for me.

And one day, I can't wait to have a beautiful, healthy little baby and to teach them a healthy lifestyle from a young age so that hopefully they won't struggle as much with their health as I have. I never wanted to have a baby, or was more or less indifferent until about a year ago, and then all of a sudden it hit me that ... whoa I want a baby and I am completely aware of having a biological clock! I still have a LONG way to go before I worry about time running out, but now I've surpassed my mom's age when she had me and I don't want to be an old grandma from the get-go! BUT at the same time I want the right situation to play out before I have kids... Just saying I am hopeful.

At the very least, if I can go out with my friends on a Friday night and laugh and have fun and be carefree again! Just live in the moment--that would make all this stress and working 2 jobs to pay for the surgery worth it, and so much sweeter.

I love everyone's answers but for me, I am most looking forward to having my picture taken. I haven't posed for the camera in years and have no pictures of me with either if my kids except for when they were toddlers. (They are now 12 and 9) I also don't have a Facebook pic so that would be nice, too. I will, however, put one up here as soon as I can get my daughter to figure out how to do a profile pic for me because I am quite computer illiterate.

Next summer' date=' going to the amusement park and actually going on the rides

Not worrying about the seatbelt on an airplane

Ladypart thing, like you mentioned - lol

Shopping in the misses dept

Not opting for slip on shoes so I don't have to struggle tieing them

Hopefully, not taking BP meds anymore

Hopefully, ridding myself of sleep apnea

Not feeling so self conscious

Having more energy

Being able to wear knee high boots (these damned calves)

Being able to sit in a meeting at work and not look down just to see my belly all bunched up

Going out w/ friends at lunch and not having to take the front passenger seat as it is the most "spacious"

Not worrying about going to a concert and spilling over on the person next to me or worrying about going through the turnstyle getting into the show

Having more clothing options - that can include wearing horizontal stripes ( <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )

Having more hairstyle options rather than just the ones that don't accentuate my round face

LOL - those are a "few" of the things I am looking forward to.[/quote']

I love and agree with all of yours, I just wanted to add camping. I never been but every time someone invites me all I think is how am I going to get up from the sleeping bag? I'm looking forward to all the new adventures.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
