DELRUD75 0 Posted March 24, 2006 I went for my first fill on march 20th exactly 1 month post-op.I had 4 cc's put in my 8 cc band. The first day i had restriction and i thought finally no more being hungry constantly, only to find that the next day it was though i hadnt had a fill at all.I dont go back for my next visit until april 26th,and i dont know how much longer i can deal with the hunger pains.Has anyone else had a simalar experience and if so how many fills and how many cc's did it take before you found your sweet spot.Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks,Jeff R. niche 0 Posted March 24, 2006 it is totally common. it took me 4 fills before i found a good level of restriction. so take heart. talk to your doctor. at my doc's they will do another fill after 2 weeks if you're feeling hungry, eating too much and not losing. i didn't believe my doctor when she said that at proper restriction, i wouldn't really feel hungry. after my last fill, i've only been hungry 2 times in the last 10 days. it does work, just try to be patient and get another fill as soon as you can. Sunta 5 Posted March 24, 2006 Hi Jeff, I have read alot of posts on the board saying that fills often take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to "kick in". I know it's frustrating, but there are many people on here who report getting their fill and then not having any restriction until a few weeks later. My advice is to wait two weeks, then if you're still not feeling anything, call Dr. Peters and tell him what's going on. So far, he's been super responsive to me whenever I have called. In the meantime while you're waiting, maybe you could try sticking to Weight Watchers? You can do it online and it's only $16.95 per month and is a great program. Keep me posted! Jachut 487 Posted March 24, 2006 I've kind of learned that restriction is not always a wham bam in your face thing! I'd say after 2 fills I had none but when I changed what I was eating slightly to more difficult foods like bread suddenly my band is working awesomely for me. I was eating healthy, low fat foods but sticking with softer stuff, not mushies exactly but maybe tuna, chickpeas and tomatoes in a salad for lunch and was able to eat too much. Put that in bread or a wrap and I can eat way less and it sticks with me for hours. So I do have restriction, I just wasnt utilising it properly.
Morsaille 4 Posted March 24, 2006 Thanks Jacqui- I am going to try this. I have had two fills and feel wide open and snacky all the time. I am fighting the good fight, but really was hoping to be getting more help from my band at this point. The waiting is horrible! I am more than ready to start peeling away the layers. Thanks for starting this thread Jeff. There are nights when I just want to scream in frustration and mourning for my $9,000.
